What does Love INC stand for?

Love INC stands for Love In the Name of Christ.  We are a Christian organization working with low income individuals, families, the elderly and disabled in Clay County.  There are nearly 140 Love INC’s across the United States.

Since 1990.

 Is Love INC a Not for Profit?

Yes.  We are a 501c3.

What is the mission of Love INC?

Our mission is to mobilize the Church to transform lives and communities in the Name of Christ.  Our primary role is to work with Christ-centered churches in a community of all denominations to work together to meet the emergency  needs of those in the community we reside in. 

 Do you have Core Values? 

Yes.  There are 10 core values which are Christian values.

    •  What does Love INC do in the community?

    The foundation of Love INC is the Clearinghouse (Emergency Assistance Center).  We take emergency calls from people who are needing help.  People may call us directly, churches may send them to us, businesses may send them to us, the school district or other social service agencies might send them to us.  We try to meet our client’s needs if at all possible.  Each client’s case is looked at individually.   Love INC is here to serve low income families, individuals, elderly and disabled in Clay County without discrimination of race or religious background. 

    Who are the volunteers of Love INC?

    Volunteers at Love INC are Christian volunteers from Christ-centered churches throughout the community.  Love INC could not operate without volunteers.  They play a key role in the day to day operation of Love INC.

     How do you become a volunteer for Love INC?

    We are looking for Christian volunteers to represent us in the community since we are a Christian organization.   The first step is to sign up for a Love INC Volunteer Orientation class.  They are scheduled the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. and the first Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. You can sign up for a class by calling 781-7121 and speaking to the Administrative Assistant.  Church volunteer work groups may also serve by calling to ask to be set up for a work day.

     How is Love INC funded?

    Church partnerships, individual and business donations, grants and fundraising events.

    Accountability

    Those requesting financial assistance will be expected to do the following:

    1. Provide complete and accurate information

    2. Be willing to attend Budget Counseling

    3. Follow through for financial assistance from referral agencies, bringing in documentation of the agency’s requests

    4. Be working, attending school, volunteering or have proof of disability or other legitimate reason for not working

    5. Have a willingness to cooperate and do everything possible to help themselves

    Christ-Centered Ministry

    We at Love INC enjoy being part of helping the churches meet the basic needs of families in our community. Even more than that, we are grateful to have the opportunity to connect people with Christians who can in turn introduce them to Jesus Christ – who is the greatest gift of all. We hope and pray that the ministry of Love INC will give people a little glimpse of Jesus’ love so that they will truly want to know Him and will ultimately choose to receive Him as their Lord and Savior. We feel very blessed to join with the churches in this effort. To Jesus Christ be all the glory!

    How Love INC Helps

    Love INC is not a “handout”. Our primary objective is always to assist people to move towards self-sufficiency where possible. We strive to educate our clients about all they can do for themselves and all they can do with their lives in service to others, as well. We take this position for a number of reasons. First, we believe it supports the dignity of the person seeking help. Secondly, we believe it is irresponsible to perpetuate a cycle of helplessness. Thirdly, we believe it to be good stewardship. We want to ‘teach people how to fish rather than give them the fish’. We want to be a bridge for people into both a better spiritual life and one of economic self-sufficiency.
